ADA Cellworks gets funding from Intel and Mavcap

KUALA LUMPUR (Press Release). ADA Cellworks, a radio network planning service provider, has received venture capital funding to develop WiMAX technology.

The investment comes from Intel Capital, the venture capital investment arm of Intel Corporation, and Malaysia Venture Capital Management Bhd (MAVCAP), the venture capital investment arm of the Finance Ministry.

The amount was not disclosed but the funding is expected to contribute to the development of the global WiMAX ecosystem.

“With this investment, the company plans to further develop its competencies in new technologies and acquire network planning and measurement tools. We expect this will increase our ability to deliver a high level of network service to customers on a larger scale,” said ADA Cellworks chief executive officer Mirza Ahmad.

Werner Sutanto, director of Intel Capital ASEAN said, “Intel intends to work with ADA Cellworks on WiMAX technology development and market growth, specifically in the areas of radio planning and network optimisation.”
