TAIPEI (WiMAX Day). According to a report in DigiTimes, Sprint Nextel may be considering CPE equipment purchases in Taiwan. The report cites Peter MacKinnon, general manager of WiMAX business unit at Nortel Networks, as saying that “Nortel is helping Sprint Nextel to build up direct business relations with Taiwan-based companies.”

Among the companies from whom Sprint may solicit bids, include Foxconn Electronics, Zyxel Communications, Mitac Technology, GemTek Technology and Cameo Communications.
