KUALA LUMPUR (WiMAX Day). Applications that have been made for licenses of 2.5 GHz spectrum in Malaysia will now be evaluated by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). According to Energy, Water and Communications Minister Dr Lim Keng Yaik, who spoke to reporters yesterday, 17 applications for licenses have been received. Among the license bidders are Maxis Communications Bhd, MiTV Corp Bhd and Telekom Malaysia Bhd, each of whom also own 3G licenses in Malaysia.
