Russian news agency Prime Tass reported yesterday that the Russian telecommunication operator Golden Telecom has applied to the State Commission of Radio Frequencies (GKRCh) in Moscow for licenses to use 2.5 ~ 2.7 GHz spectrum. The GKRCh announced in September that it would award several licenses for this spectrum, and GSM operator Megafon has also made an application for a license. Golden telecom is one of the largest network providers in Russia and Ukraine, providing dedicated Internet services, VoIP and broadband, as well as GSM services in the Ukrainian cities of Kiev and Odessa.
