PARIS (WiMAX Day). French WiMAX operator HDRR has been awarded a contract to build a network of 21 base stations in the Haute-Marne region of France. The contract was awarded by the regional government, who will assume half of the €3.8 million cost for deploying the network. The regional government also stated that it will subsidise the cost of CPE equipment, which is intended to cost consumers less that €100. HDRR has a license to operate WiMAX service in the Haute-Marne region, northeast of Paris.
