TAIPEI (WiMAX Day). The Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) in Taiwan announced yesterday that a final proposal for WiMAX licenses will be submitted to the government for approval by the end of this year. In a public hearing yesterday, MOTC representatives listened to debate on issues surrounding the licenses, including the number of licenses to be issued. The National Communications Commission (NCC), the actual author of telecommunication policies, has requested that nine licenses be auctioned, however the MOTC has suggested that only two licenses will be offered.
