SÃO PAULO (WiMAX Day). Brazil’s leading long distance carrier Embratel announced last week that it will launch trials of WiMAX services in January 2007. Embratel is owned by the Mexican telecom group Telmex, and presently has the only national license for 3.5 GHz in Brazil, which was awarded in 2002.
