BERLIN (WiMAX Day). With licenses for 3.5 GHz spectrum that were awarded at auction in December, the German alternative telecoms operator Televersa Online GmbH has announced plans to begin the immediate development of their WiMAX network in the Niederbayern and Oberpfalz regions of southern Germany. According to a company press release, Televersa intends to launch their network in June of this year, and have the entirety of their roll-out obligations fulfilled by the end of 2007. The licenses accorded by the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) have obligations that require license holders to have covered 15 percent of the license area by 2009, and 25 percent by 2011.
