Neuf WiMAX in Haut-Rhin

PARIS (WiMAX Day). The Council General of the Haut-Rhin region in France will deploy a WiMAX network to provide broadband access to 90% of the population in that region. The contract for constructing and managing the network has been given to LD Collectivités, which is controlled by Neuf Cegetel. Neuf is also a partner with GSM operator SFR in two regional WiMAX licenses in France. The partners have created Haut-Rhin Telecom to manage the project, and it will work with French WiMAX operator HDRR to deploy the network. HDRR, a subsidiary of TDF and LD Collectivités, holds 11 regional WiMAX licenses in France. The total project is believed to cost €11 million Euros.
