LONDON (WiMAX Day). Japanese WiMAX operator Yozan Inc is the latest WiMAX operator to join the WiMAX Spectrum Owners Alliance (WiSOA). This was announced earlier this week at the quarterly meeting of WiSOA, when it was also announced that Yozan chairman Sunao Takatori had been elected to serve as a WiSOA board member. Yozan is the first company to deploy WiMAX services in Japan and is focused on providing WiMAX-based services throughout areas of Tokyo, prior to expanding services to Osaka, Nagoya, and Kyoto. Yozan operates WiMAX services over 4.9 GHz spectrum, which is a semi-licensed, registered frequency in Japan.
