Aircel expands WiMAX in India

CHENNAI (WiMAX Day). Following a rapid launch of WiMAX services in Chennai last year, Aircel Business Solutions (ABS), one of the largest telecom groups in India, plans to expand its network to cover 44 cities in India by the end of 2007, the Hindu Times has reported. ABS has built WiMAX services already in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad, and also has made small deployments in Coimbatore, Pune, Delhi, Cochin and Ahmedabad. According to the report, ABS only markets its WiMAX service to small, medium and large companies. However ABS is planning to offer WiMAX to individual subscribers in the coming year.
