Fujitsu will provide chips to Kedah

SAN JOSE (WiMAX Day). Fujitsu Microelectronics America, Inc announced that it will provide its fixed WiMAX system-on-chips (SoCs) to Kedah Electronics Engineering, an entrepreneurial Russian company that designs and manufactures telecommunication products and systems. According to a Fujitsu press release, Kedah will use the Fujitsu WiMAX SoCs for its new AsterPlex+ WiMAX Customer Premises Units (CPE) and WiMAX base stations. Kedah plans to ship CPEs with the Fujitsu SoCs for the 3.5 GHz band this year, and expand its products to work in the 2.5 ~ 2.7 GHz range.
