According to an article in the Commercial Times, Hong Kong telecoms giant Hutchison Whampoa intends to invest in an undisclosed Taiwanese telecoms company if that company is able to obtain WiMAX licenses at government auction this summer. It was also noted that Intel Capital has signed memorandums of understanding with Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) and First International Telecom (FITel), that might be related to investment, if either company is able to secure any of the six regional WiMAX licenses at auction.
