RESTON (WiMAX Day). Last week Sprint Nextel announced that it was awarded the Networx Enterprise contract offered by the General Services Administration (GSA) in America. The US$20 billion contract is to supply “innovative telecommunications services that can be customised to the mobility, IP and convergence needs of federal, civilian and defence agencies.” According to a Sprint press release, Tony D’Agata, vice president, Federal Government – Public Sector for Sprint said that Sprint’s proposal included “a full suite of IP services supported by both our CDMA EVDO Rev. A and 4G WiMAX wireless platforms for a truly integrated access solution at very favourable costs.”
