MAPUTO (WiMAX Day). Equipment manufacturer Redline Communications announced that Teledata Mozambique is expanding its existing network in four cities using Redline’s RedMAX equipment. Teledata, which is jointly owned by Telecomunicacoes de Mocambique (TDM) and Portugal Telecom, first installed the WiMAX Forum Certified RedMAX equipment in the cities of Maputo and Beira, and since March expanded to the cities of Matola and Nampula. With more than 800 business and residential subscribers, Teledata will next deploy the RedMAX Indoor Subscriber Units that will enable customers to benefit from nomadic and limited portable WiMAX services. Teledata Mozambique will continue to optimise its RedMAX networks to increase its subscriber density, coverage and quality of service.
