Polish cable TV chooses WiMAX

WARSAW (WiMAX Day). The Polish cable television operator Multimedia Polska said it will invest US$4 million over the next year in building a WiMAX network. The company has a license for 3.5 GHz spectrum and, according to a press release this week, has signed an agreement with Airspan Networks to deliver the equipment for building its infrastructure. The WiMAX service will be on the vanguard of technology in Poland. According to Andrzej Rogowski, the company’s CEO, “all our subscribers who used the old radio system will now have a more modern service…. We will be able to offer our customers not just a phone, but also wireless broadband Internet services.”
