BATH (WiMAX Day). The UK chipset designer picoChip announced that it has secured US$27 million in its fourth round of investment. The investment was led by Highland Capital Partners, and “undisclosed key strategic investors.” The existing investors in picoChip include Atlas Venture, Pond Venture Partners, Scottish Equity Partners, Rothschild, Intel and AT&T. picoChip is recognised a leading supplier of complete femtocell, picocell and macrocell reference designs for WiMAX.
