SKOPJE (WiMAX Day). Greek telecoms operator Cosmotelco announced yesterday that it plans to invest up to €500 million Euros to build a WiMAX network in Macedonia. According to a report from local news agency Makfax, the announcement was made by Dimitrios Contominas, CEO of Cosmotelco, at a press conference yesterday after the Macedonian Electronic Communications Agency awarded a national WiMAX license to Americom DOOEL, a joint venture company between Cosmotelco and Skopje-based Nexcom.
