SYDNEY (WiMAX Day). In its latest quarterly report, Unwired Australia said it had 69,592 subscribers at the end of June, and most recent subscriber figures passed 70,000. The company also reported a strong cash position, with an increase of 37% to AUD$35.9 million. This gave the company a healthy cash flow during the last quarter of AUD$1.77 million. Unwired is planning the expansion and upgrade of its network to mobile WiMAX, and its CEO, David Spence said the company is “in the best position for WiMAX in the Australian market because of our spectrum assets, our partners and our ability to deploy and manage these networks.”
