Outremer Telecom acquire WiMAX licenses

PARIS (WiMAX Day). The French alternative telecoms operator Outremer Telecom announced that it has acquired two WiMAX spectrum licenses from XTS Telecom that cover part of the Antilles Islands in the Caribbean and another that covers Ile de la Réunion.

The acquisition also entitles Outremer Telecom to acquire 42% of the capital of Dauphin Telecom, a telecom operator with WiMAX licenses in the Caribbean islands of Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy.

Outremer was founded in 1986 and operates largely in the French territories of Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana and Réunion.
