TAIPEI (WiMAX Day). The Market Intelligence Centre (MIC) in Taiwan reported this week that Taiwan will be ranked as the second largest global investor in WiMAX development for the next two years. The report said that during the period 2006-2008 total worldwide investment in WiMAX network deployment is expected to reach US$5.2 billion, with a CAGR of 150%. It also noted that more than half of this investment will be made in the USA, with Taiwanese investment expected to total US$664 million. The frequency band 2.5 GHz in which WiMAX investments will be made will become the dominant frequency for WiMAX by the end of 2007, the report concluded.
