KIEV (WiMAX Day). Alternet, the brand name for Ukrainian High Technologies, announced that it has added new subscribers to its WiMAX network in Ukraine which now total 1,000 subscribers. According to Artem Beloded, Head of Marketing for Alternet, the company is now adding a few dozen new subscribers each week. The company has now begun rapid deployment of its network in Ukraine, and is now working to improve coverage in the cities of Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk and Kiev. Ukrainian High Technologies is licensed by the National Commission of Communications (NCRC) in Ukraine to offer WiMAX through a national license in the 3.4 ~ 3.6 GHz frequency range. Investors in the company include the venture capital funds Intel Capital and Russian Technologies Fund.
