AMSTERDAM (WiMAX Day). The Dutch telecoms operator KPN announced that it is testing WiMAX in the northeast Netherlands. While the Netherlands has one of the highest broadband penetrations in the world, the company still has hundreds of thousands of consumers that still have no access to broadband. A report from Reuters noted that KPN has yet to decide to integrate WiMAX into its network, and a company spokesman said that it will await the next auction for WiMAX licenses in 2008 before it decides on a network roll-out.
