PARIS (WiMAX Day). Bolloré Telecom, a subsidiary of Group Bolloré, announced that it will begin a pilot study of WiMAX in the Paris region working with Alcatel-Lucent. Bolloré Telecom was awarded 12 licenses for WiMAX spectrum in July 2006. According to a company press release, Alcatel has already installed the first base station on top of the Tower Bolloré, which is owned by the Group and sits in the perimeter of Paris in Puteaux, and will provide coverage to the neighboring cities of Suresnes, Courbevoie and Neuilly.
