Job Responsibilities:

• RF System Test and Certification activities of our WiMAX based wireless broadband voice and data systems.
• Lead activities related to FCC and Type Approval for all of the NextWave mobile WiMAX products. This includes coordination with certification test houses and working with our customers to support their designs using our WiMAX modules.
• Participate in WiMAX forum 802.16e testing/certification related development and activities.
• Standards body submissions and synchronization with internal requirements and test plans/procedures and field trial support.
• Assist development teams with integration/test/validation/certification strategies and execution.
• Work closely with the systems, marketing, and business development departments to provide the best paths/strategies for our WiMAX based wireless broadband products to pass the mobile WiMAX certification process.

Skills and Experience:

• BS EE plus 6 years of experience with RF testing of wireless communication devices.
• Must have excellent lab skills with test equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VSAs, protocol analyzer, communications test boxes, etc.
• Knowledge of basic communication system PHY digital, analog, and RF performance metrics is required.
• Experience with making HW design choices to meet various regulatory body requirements.
• Experience with deployment, field testing, and FCC & regulatory compliance issues a plus.
• Familiar with one or more datacom/telecom protocols preferred.
• Knowledge of Linux OS is desirable.
• Experience with writing software in VB/C/C++, Python/Perl/TCL, or Java languages for test automation is a plus.
