POSDATA making inroads to WiBRO device market

SEOUL (Press Release). POSDATA will enter the WiBRO device market, the company announced on September 6 that it would launch the USB type WiBRO device, ‘U100,’ at the end of this month. ‘U100’ can be used in the notebook computers. It has so far exported WiBRO system equipments like base station and controllers. ‘U100’ is its first customer market product.

In its headquarters, POSDATA pronounced that it reached an agreement with KT on marketing cooperation including designing WiBRO devices and sharing distribution channels. It also signed a marketing agreement with CJ Home Shopping for WiBRO device sales. Its devices will be provided through CJ Home Shopping’s online distribution channels.

With embedded antenna, ‘U100’ has a simple outward show. It can be rotated within 45˚ so that when receive sensitivity is low, users can change the angle. Two LEDs shows its status. In line with this USB dongle, POSDATA will provide mini-card type and CF type devices and those for portable game consoles by the end of this year. It will also export these products to its existing markets.

Particularly, POSBRO, its affiliate for device development, is developing WiBRO devices for portable game consoles. This device will enable users to enjoy gaming on the move. Joon-il Shin, a managing director of POSDATA, said, “The agreement with KT allowed us to come up with the comprehensive solution for WiBRO market including system equipments to customer devices. Therefore we will be able to increase our competitiveness in the global market.”
