OLSO (WiMAX Day). After several months of delay, the Norwegian telecommunications regulator NPT announced that the auction for 2.5 ~ 2.69 GHZ spectrum will commence on November 5th, 2007. The deadline for interested parties to register for the auction is October 10.

The spectrum to be auctioned will consist of five sub-bands, each of which contains a number of contiguous frequency blocks. All the frequency blocks will be made available in six different regions of Norway.

The auction will be made of the basis of technology neutrality, and the spectrum licenses will be valid until December 2022. The licenses will not carry any direct requirements for roll-out or coverage.
