JOHANNESBURG (WiMAX Day). In South Africa, the government-controlled state telecom Sentech announced that the government has allocated US$70 million (ZAR 500 million) for Sentech to equip and deploy a mobile WiMAX network. According to a report in <em>MyBroadband</em>, the government is expected to commit a total of approximately ZAR 3.2 billion to build a national mobile WiMAX network.
