Cofetel delays WiMAX auction
MEXICO CITY (WiMAX Day). The Mexican telecommunications regulator Cofetel announced yesterday that its plan for auctioning 3.4 ~ 3.69 GHZ WiMAX spectrum will be delayed until 2008. Cofetel announced the auction in April this year as part of a deregulation process. Cofetel said it is awaiting final approval from the Communications and Transport Ministry for the auction rules that stipulate who can bid for the spectrum.
