TÖRING (WiMAX Day). The German alternative telecoms operator Televersa Online GmbH announced that it is near completion on the build-out of its WiMAX network in southeast Bavaria. Moreover, the company intends to fulfill its license requirements two years early. Televersa was awarded a 3.5 GHz spectrum license by the Federal Network Agency (Bundesnetzagentur) in December 2006 with obligations to have its network deployed in 15 percent of the license area by 2009, and 25 percent by 2011. According to Jürgen Pfitzner, Televersa CEO, the company will connect more than 250,000 subscribers over the next two years. Televersa will offer WiMAX bundled with its “Flying DSL” voice and data services.
