PARIS (WiMAX Day). The French telecoms operator Altitude Telecom has acquired the two remaining 3.5 GHz spectrum licenses owned by APRR (Paris-Rhine-Rhone Motorways). The licenses cover the regions of La Franche-Comté and Rhône-Alpes. Altitude was previously a partner with APRR in the Maxtel joint venture, which was disbanded in June, and eleven of the regional licenses were allocated to a new subsidiary of Altitude named Altistream. A report today in the French newspaper Les Echos said that the French regulator Arcep has approved the acquisition and transfer, but the price of the transaction was not disclosed.
