Motorola gets Far EasTone contract

TAIPEI (WiMAX Day). Motorola announced that it was awarded contracts from Far EasTone Telecommunications (FET) in Taiwan to build a WiMAX network as part of FET’s “role in the national M-Taiwan project,” according to a company press release. “We have turned to Motorola for its expertise to design, supply, and deploy a world-class network that will support a multi-vendor environment while enabling future growth as well,” said Jeffey Gee, executive vice president, Network Technology of Far EasTone Telecom. Motorola said that FET will deploy its network in two phases, beginning this month. The first phase should be completed by December 2007, and the second phase in early 2008.
