BUENOS AIRES (WiMAX Day). The wireless network operator Ertach intends to launch its mobile WiMAX network in Q1 2008, the on-line journal BNamericas reported today. An interview with Ertach’s head of marketing and communications noted that the company is currently migrating its network to the 802.16e standard using equipment supplied by Alvarion. Initially Ertach will launch services in Buenos Aires, Córdoba and Mendoza. Ertach was acquired by the Mexican telecom giant Telmex in August 2006, however  the acquisition is pending approval of the public welfare investment group Sociedad Comercial del Plata, whose shares are to be sold to Telmex complete the transaction.
