PARIS (WiMAX Day). The Conseil Général of the region Deux-Sèvres in France, has chosen Altitude Telecom to build and operate their municipal WiMAX network. Deux-Sèvres is located in the West of France, in the region of Poitou-Charentes. Contracted though its subsidiary Altitude Infrastructure, the network of Deux-Sèvres is set to deploy 49 WiMAX base stations over the next year that will cover 97% of the population in that region. The total budget for the network is reportedly EUR €6.9 million. Altitude was also awarded a similar contract in the community of Grand Rodez in the Midi-Pyrénées region of France.
