Saleh, the interim CEO at Sprint Nextel following the departure of Gary Forsee, confirmed the company’s commitment to building a nationwide WiMAX network. “There are a lot of questions about WiMAX obviously fueled by our competitors who would love to see us distracted,” he said. “But I would say it is a cornerstone to our future.” Saleh reported that the first launch of WiMAX services in Washington, Baltimore and Chicago are still on course for the end of this year.
