Mobily may finance WiMAX bid
RIYADH (WiMAX DAY). In September this year, the GSM operator Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) in Saudi Arabia announced its intent to acquire the Saudi WiMAX network operator Bayanat al-Oula for 1.5 billion SAR (US$400 million). According to a report in Gulf News, Mobily will secure funding for the acquisition from banks in Saudi.
