Colombo (WiMAX Day). The Sri Lankan telecommunications company Dialog Telekom (a subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia) announced the launch of a WiMAX network. The network will be operated by Dialog Broadband Networks (DBN), a fully owned subsidiary of Dialog Telekom.
According to a company press release, the new service will include pre-packaged high-speed, internet solutions, together with unlimited internet usage for a fixed monthly subscription at speeds up to 4Mbps.
In a prepared statement, Kavan Ratnayaka, Chief Executive Officer, Dialog Broadband Networks, said “today is an extremely exciting day for Dialog Telekom as we open the door for the Sri Lankan market to experience the fastest Internet connection to date with Dialog Broadband Internet.”
