Huawei takes WiMAX to Tajikistan

DUSHANBE (WiMAX Day). Huawei Technologies announced this week that it has been selected to build a commercial WiMAX network for Babilon-T, the largest telecoms operator in Tajikistan. According to a company press release, Huawei will provide “an end-to-end Mobile WiMAX network,” and the network is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2008. “By introducing mobile WiMAX technology, we will be able to provide our customers all over Tajikistan with broadband access to the Internet,” said Fayzullaev B, General Director of Babilon-T.
