CHICAGO (WiMAX Day). Motorola announced today that it will soon offer a desktop WiMAX CPE for connectivity to 2.5 GHz frequencies. According to a Motorola press release, the CPEi 100 will offer “plug-and-play” connectivity between a computer and a WiMAX network. “The CPEi 100 provides that experience and enables WiMAX operators to offer a home device that consumers can install and setup in only a matter of minutes,” said Fred Wright, Motorola senior vice president, Cellular Networks and Broadband.

The CPEi 100 is part of Motorola’s MOTOwi4 family of WiMAX products, and is expected to be available later this year.
