Asiaspace seeks funding for WiMAX

KUALA LUMPUR (WiMAX Day). The WiMAX license holder Asiaspace Sdn Bhd will invest RM500 million (US$152 million) over the next few years to roll-out its WiMAX network in Malaysia. Asiaspace chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Abdullah told reporters yesterday that the company will raise the necessary funds through bank debt and strategic investors. “We have identified (the potential partners), it’s a question of deciding who,” Abdul Ghani was quoted saying in a report by the Malaysian Star. Asiaspace was awarded a 2.3GHz spectrum to roll out WiMAX in March 2007.
