BARCELONA (WiMAX DAY). Bridgewater Systems announced it was selected by seven WiMAX service providers around the world, including two Tier 1 North American service providers, and is actively involved in more than 12 WiMAX trials, giving it a lead on competitors. Bridgewater has established channel partnerships with industry leaders such as Motorola, Nortel and Alvarion.
The Bridgewater Systems service control solutions provide operators with the tools they need to support key WiMAX applications such as over the air provisioning, lawful intercept, and subscriber service control across networks. These solutions include broad support for fixed and mobile WiMAX, including support for WiMAX Forum standards to ensure interoperability.
“Bridgewater has emerged as the leading provider of WiMAX service control – a critical capability for delivering a rich subscriber experience that drives competitive differentiation and profitability,” said Farshid Mohammadi, vice president of product line management for Bridgewater Systems, in a press release.
The Bridgewater WiMAX solutions deploy and provide concurrent support of mixed network environment, including a Network Access Control – AAA Service Controller; a carrier-grade authentication, authorization and accounting (AAA) solution for fixed and mobile WiMAX deployments that are fully compliant with the WiMAX Forum’s NWG Stage 3 Release 1.0.0 specification. They also support a broad range of functions, including EAP authentication methods and mobile IP and key derivation required for mobile WiMAX.
Bridgewater is also building a rich WiMAX interoperability ecosystem with device management platform vendors, network and RAN equipment vendors. This interoperability will enable service providers to build strong WiMAX networks based on their choice of equipment and software providers, providing a future proof solution.
