Samsung shows more mobile WiMAX products

BARCELONA (WiMAX Day). At the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Samsung Electronics exhibited their new mobile WiMAX solutions, including Access Service Network (ASN) systems. Among the products on show were the ‘U-RAS Flexible’ and ‘U-RAS LightSeries 3’; two new base-stations for hot zone, in-building and home coverage.

Demonstrations also used seamless video streaming to show how Samsung’s dual-mode headset can be used to switch back and forth from WiMAX to GSM networks. Samsung also introduced the next generation of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) technology during the Congress.

These demonstrations are all part of the push to bring mobile WiMAX into the European marketplace, which is currently dominated by GSM.
