MANAMA (WiMAX Day). In Bahrain, the GSM network operator Zain (formerly MTC-Vodafone), announced that it has begun to deploy its WiMAX services for business customers. The “Zain@home” service was launched to residential customers in October last year with tremendous success. According to Zain’s broadband director Mahmoud Abu Zannad, “The WiMAX service is instrumental in our aim to offer both business and residential customers the capability to work and play whenever and wherever they wish. This is fast becoming a prerequisite of our modern lifestyles.”
