TBILISI (WiMAX Day). Swiss-based Tunc Holding AG hopes to win a contract from LLC Warid Telecom to build its WiMAX network in Georgia. The company announced today that it is participating in a tender bid worth roughly USD 9 million. The proposal calls for 400 base stations to be deployed in the 12 regions of Georgia. Warid Telecom recently was awarded a license for 3.5 GHz spectrum, and is required to launch a network within twelve months, and cover the entire country within three years.
