HERZLIYA (WiMAX Day). The Isreali company WiNetworks announced last week that it closed its third round of financing, raising USD 19 million. Investors in WiNetworks include Rho Ventures, Columbia Capital, Cedar Fund and Evergreen Venture Partners. The company manufactures compact base stations for WMAX networks supporting the IEEE 802.16e standards, in a range of frequencies. Last month the company said it had already received orders for over USD 17 million, and began to ship its WiN7000 base stations, which uses Sequans Communications new SQN2130 mobile WiMAX base station ASIC.
