HERNDON (WiMAX Day). Sprint announced that the mobile WiMAX infrastructure and devices of Samsung Electronics have passed Sprint’s rigorous commercial acceptance criteria. The companies said that after extensive testing, the network is ready to be built in Baltimore and Washington DC, with commercial launch set for later this year. “This is a major step towards launch readiness and Sprint is extremely pleased with the performance of the mobile WiMAX network and access devices from Samsung,” said Barry West, XOHM president.
