Embratel nears WiMAX launch in Rio

RIO DE JANEIRO (WiMAX Day). Embratel announced that its WiMAX network should each 70,000 customers by July. The company has just launched its service in Rio De Janeiro, targeted to SMEs, and should be able to accommodate 20,000 new customers. In its first phase of deployment, Embratel still has another twelve cities to launch. With a total investment of USD 105 million thus far, Embratel spent already seventeen percent of its budget in Rio. The company plans to market its service for USD 113 per month.
