TAIPEI (WiMAX Day). According to the WiMAX Forum, there will be an estimated 133 million subscribers to WiMAX services worldwide by 2012. Speaking at the first WiMAX Forum Operator Summit in Taipei, Ron Resnick, president and chairman of the WiMAX Forum, said that 260 telecom operators are now deploying WiMAX technology, and that by 2012 there will be more than 500 WiMAX operators throughout the world. These forecasts have emerged from additional data in the recently released WiMAX Forum Global WiMAX Subscriber & User Forecast.
