SINGAPORE (WiMAX Day). Asiaspace Sdn Bhd announced that it has selected Huawei Technologies Co Ltd to supply an end-to-end solution for its WiMAX network in Malaysia. Huawei will deliver Asiaspace a network that includes base stations and a network management platform. Asiaspace chairman Datuk Abdul Ghani Abdullah announced yesterday that his company plans to spend “MYR 500 million [USD 150 million] over the next three to five years to roll out our wireless broadband service.” Abdul Ghani said that Asiaspace will begin the deployment of its WiMAX service in the third quarter of 2008, and should reach 40% of the Malaysian population by 2010.
