NEW YORK (WiMAX Day). The market research firm Infonetics Research reports that the global market for WiMAX equipment increased 59% to USD 363 million in during the first quarter of 2008. The growth was lead by strong sales of mobile WiMAX equipment which increased 141%. Amongst the highlights of the report, Motorola leads the market for mobile WiMAX sales, and Alvarion leads the market in fixed WiMAX sales.
